Advantages Of Invisalign

Feb 03

If you are needing braces or your children do then you will have heard of Invisalign as an alternative to the more traditional and old style metal braces that are a permanent fixture on the teeth for the duration of treatment. However, even if you have heard of this new treatment, you will probably be wondering what all the fuss is about and how these plastic mouth trays are better than having braces.

The most strikingly obvious advantage that this route of treatment is that they are far more aesthetically pleasing than braces. Whereas you would have lines of metal or wire running along your teeth if you went down the braces route, with these plastic devices you, instead, do not have any of this and they are clear and transparent meaning that they are barely (if ever) visible to the unsuspecting eye. Even the people that wear them say that they are much more comfortable than braces. Another major advantage is in terms of cleaning and eating. A downside to braces was that they had a tendency to break easily if you ate certain foods however Invisalign can be removed when eating meals so effectively eradicating this problems.

The same goes for cleaning. Because the braces themselves could not be removed during treatment they had a tendency to store plaque and bacteria which inevitably led to the likes of tooth decay and yet more dental treatment. Because these plastic aligners can be removed for cleaning then you get a much better and more thorough clean and reduce the chance of tooth or gum decay. All in all this new way of straightening and aligning teeth is becoming immensely popular among dental patients not just for the cosmetic nature of the devices but also for the practical benefits as well.

Creating Your Perfect Fitness Plan

Jul 06

Do you wish that you could get in shape but those one-size-fits-all workout plans aren’t working for you? One of the biggest fitness faux pas that people make are assuming that any exercise plan that is generalized will work for them.

The truth is, we are all at different levels, and we all have to start somewhere. Rather than starting at a level too high or too low from where you are, you have to find your niche, and work your way up. This is the only way to get real results without jeopardizing your health

For instance, if you are just starting out, and you can only manage to do 10 minutes on the treadmill before collapsing, then that is fine. It isn’t the suggested 30 minutes of cardio three time a week, but you will get there over time.

Try this: put aside ten minutes a day three days a week to do an intense aerobic exercise. This could be running, kickboxing, a step class, swimming laps, or anything else that gets the heart beating. Then set aside another three days (alternating) to do strength training for 10 minutes. This means crunches, pushups, lying abduction, dumbbells, or anything meant to tone.

Start there, and add time as you are able. That is all it takes!
