Speakers at the annual Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, California have declared that the mobile phone will be the primary device of the future for those seeking to access the ever evolving features of the web. Major tech industry giants ranging from Google, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft met with those from long term media giants like NBC and Hulu.com owner General Electric plus Comcast, the second largest broadband provider in the United States. Industry veterans were delighted to see the tech cycle for mobile devices is exceeding anything in the past with new and improved products hitting the market at a faster rate than any computers or other consumer electronics ever have. Even during what many are calling a global recession, the mobile phone industry and associated products such as accessories and software have seen no downturn in their sales, in fact experiencing a lift instead.
As consumers continue to upgrade theirĀ mobile phones, more advanced services and features are being added at a mind boggling pace. Broadband internet connectivity will play heavily into the future that these tech gurus foresee, allowing mobile phone subscribers to access their favorite television shows and even movies directly from their handsets. If PayPal is any indication, purchases will be a breeze by allowing consumers to make so-called micro payments of small amounts that are transferred from their accounts directly to vendors on the fly. With the advent of Twitter, mobile users are able to not only make rapid exchanges of communication, but actually search in real time as opposed to standard search engines that often encounter delays in updating their list of sites. All in all, mobile phones, according to those at the conference, are expected to be the keys to a coming digital future.

Smartphones have really hit a new wave, and they are quickly becoming a dime a dozen. Every year two or three huge sellers are announced, and they are highly anticipated, and then fly right off of the shelves. The advances in this area are impressive, but there is one that still stands above all the rest. That is the iPhone.
One of the first of it’s kind, the iPhone is proof that while Apple may have succumbed in the computer world to the domination of Microsoft, they are still at the top of the mobile device game. With incredible graphics, one of the fastest 3G networks with their AT&T affiliation, tons of apps, both official and consumer made, and a million different features available it isn’t hard to see why.
But it goes beyond that. The iPhone is the best because it shows the ingenuity of the creators. While the first iPhone was a disappointment to many in the beginning, but they have more than made up for it with this generation. The development of the OS 3.0 software has brought many back yet again.
While it is hard to say what may be next in line for the Apple franchise, there is no doubt that the iPhone, and it’s future generations, will be at the forefront.
